About Me
I am a freelance designer specialising in the design of bespoke Traditional Oak Frames using traditional methods like mortise & tenon and dovetail joints.
I spent 18 years as a carpenter working on a variety of projects which has given me the foundation needed to become a successful designer. Having a keen interest in computers, I naturally progressed into the design field as an Architectural Cad Technician and quickly moved on to 3D design. I then progressed to Timber Frame Design which gave me the structural challenges I was looking for.
I finally found the perfect job for me, Oak Frame Design. Bringing together my skills, knowledge and experience gained as a Carpenter and a 3D Cad Technician.
I am very artistic and have an eye for detail and aesthetics. I love my job and enjoy the creativity it brings.
Cad Design Services
My services include detailed plans with accurate sections for client approval of dimensions. 3D modelling of timber structures, sips and steel beams etc for hand made or CNC frames . The aim is to create a comprehensive build-able 3D structure from architectural drawings and engineers calculations. The 3D model can also be used for area and volume quantity take-offs useful for accurate pricing.

I believe that honesty and transparency are the key to a trustworthy relationship between the client and myself. As a timber frame designer I think it is important to be sympathetic to other trades within the build as this makes for a much smoother operation with less complications which can be costly.
My extensive experience as a carpenter for many years has given me the edge when it comes to practical construction solutions.

Drone Services Available
I am a keen amateur photographer/videographer looking to expand my portfolio.
I can now provide drone services such as roof inspections, highlighting any roof tiles, lead flashings or brickwork in need of repair. I can offer 4K cinematic videos of your finished projects both inside and out.
All commercial flights are fully insured details of which can be produced upon request.
